One of the best things to do on a coastal Florida vacation is to spend time at the beach. However, the charming towns found along the coastline, including Siesta Key, are home to more than shoreline. Connected to Sarasota by a short bridge, this eight-mile-long island is filled with endless adventure. After you’ve checked in to your rental from PRIME VACATIONS, spend some time researching nearby Siesta Key attractions to explore during your stay.

A Guide to 5 Things to See in Siesta Key

When you think of Siesta Key, the first thing you probably think of is the beach. While Siesta Beach is one of the area’s biggest attractions, there’s more to explore! In between soaking in the sun on a beach day, spend time visiting some of these other things to see.

  1. If you’re visiting over a Sunday, be sure to stop by the Siesta Key Farmers Market. Open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Ocean Boulevard, this local market is filled with vendors selling everything from tacos to fresh produce and more.
  2. Treat yourself to some retail therapy as you explore Siesta Village. This spot is home to several boutiques and shops that appeal to a wide range of interests. It’s also a great spot for a night out on the town.
  3. Go for a stroll at Glebe Park. The town park has both a paved and unpaved trail. It’s also where you can find pickleball courts, a playground, and plenty of open space for picnics.
  4. End your Sunday night at the Siesta Key Drum Circle, which starts an hour before sunset. Since 1996, this weekly event draws visitors to the shoreline to gather, listen to drumming, and watch a breathtaking sunset.
  5. While Siesta Beach is the most well-known of the beaches on this island, there are two other sandy spots to visit. Crescent Beach is home to Point of Rocks, which features coral formations and marine life. The other is Turtle Beach, known for being more of a sporty beach thanks to its volleyball court and horseshoe pit.
